Armed Security Officer

Smart Security is hiring Full-Time Armed Security Officers in the McPherson, Kansas area.

This position offers a pay rate of $18 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

Requirements:

Excellent customer service skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Basic computer skills

Must be able to perform indoor and outdoor foot patrols throughout an 8 hour shift

Must have reliable transportation

Must be willing to supply your own duty weapon and holster.

Open availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed.

Ability to pass criminal background and drug screen pre-hire.

Essential Job Functions:

Serve as an on-site security officer and be fully engaged in the duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Contribute to the safety and security of the campus by observing the campus environment for conditions that could result in injury or loss due to fire, theft, vandalism and other criminal acts.

Patrol and secure buildings, conduct drills, use emergency mass notification systems, call emergency responders, and work collaboratively with all.

Complete logs and reports on daily activities.

Perform routine security by patrolling buildings and grounds, observing for security violations and fire or safety hazards.

Notify appropriate staff, i.e. superintendent, leadership, facilities maintenance, etc regarding any irregularities without delay

Perform inspections for fire safety or security risks or hazards.

Recommend corrective measures regarding unsafe conditions or unsecured areas.

Provide access control to the campus, fill out gate logs, assist guests and vendors with directions.

All other duties as assigned.
