Backend Software Engineer

<p><strong>Required Skills: Kotlin, Go, typescript, MongoDb, GCP, Terraform, GITHUB</strong></p><p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><p><strong>Software / Backend Engineers (5) : This person should have 7+ years of experience</strong></p><ul><li>Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, managed serverless, multi-zone deployment)</li><li>Expertise in Kotlin (3) or Typescript/Go (2) as primary languages</li><li>Experience operating in AI-assisted development environments</li><li>REST (OpenAPI 3.x) for synchronous services; gRPC for streaming use cases</li><li>Kafka with Avro schemas + Schema Registry (primary)</li><li>Spanner, Bigtable, MongoDB Atlas (primary); PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL) where needed</li><li>Terraform (IaC), GitHub Actions (CI), Cloud Build + Cloud Deploy</li></ul><p>All engineers must be senior-level and capable of operating with limited supervision.</p><p><strong>Core Problem & Goal</strong></p><ul><li>While the <strong>platform migration</strong> is ongoing, Bumble wants to:</li><li><strong>Advance product evolution in parallel</strong>, rather than waiting for the migration to finish.</li><li>Avoid slowing down the migration teams, which are already overloaded.</li></ul><p><strong>Engineers must be comfortable:</strong></p><ul><li>Working around constraints</li><li>Prototyping with temporary solutions</li><li>Quickly adopting new services as they come online</li></ul><p><br></p>
