<p><strong>Job Title: Construction Laborer (Morning Shift)</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>This role supports a large-scale industrial construction project in Fremont, focusing on rigging, anchoring, and technical labor for heavy machinery installation. Construction laborers work in highly physical, hands-on positions that involve safely moving, aligning, leveling, and anchoring heavy industrial equipment, as well as assisting with rigging and site preparation tasks across multiple morning shifts.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Assist in setting up and testing rigging lines, pulleys, hoists, and pulling gear to support the safe movement and transport of heavy equipment.</li><li>Support the precise alignment, leveling, and anchoring of heavy machinery according to project specifications and safety standards.</li><li>Attach loads to rigging and clearly signal or direct equipment operators to ensure safe and controlled lifting and movement.</li><li>Clean and prepare work sites by removing debris, laying bracing, erecting scaffolding, and building support forms as needed.</li><li>Operate and handle a variety of hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, laser levels, and skid steers, in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and positioning materials and equipment throughout the shift.</li><li>Follow all safety protocols and site procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout and other safety practices.</li><li>Collaborate with rigging, anchoring, and technical teams to complete daily assignments and support overall project timelines.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment issues.</li><li>Support additional general construction and concrete-related tasks as directed by site leadership.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>At least 2 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial construction, concrete, or general labor.</li><li>Demonstrated experience using power tools and hand tools in a construction or industrial environment.</li><li>Ability to frequently lift and maneuver heavy materials, typically up to 50 pounds, over the course of long shifts.</li><li>Comfort working in an active environment that requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and balancing.</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in confined or high-noise spaces.</li><li>Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate construction tools and equipment safely.</li><li>Strong punctuality, reliability, and work ethic, with a consistent focus on safety protocols.</li><li>Minimum age of 18 years.</li><li>High school diploma or GED is generally preferred.</li><li>Ability to work 10–16 hour shifts on a Monday–Friday schedule as assigned.</li><li>Ownership of required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots and a hard hat.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in millwright work, including machinery installation and alignment, is a strong plus.</li><li>Background in concrete work or general construction labor is highly beneficial.</li><li>Experience operating forklifts or similar material-handling equipment is an advantage.</li><li>Familiarity with rigging practices, including load calculations and safe lifting techniques, is desirable.</li><li>Experience with crating and preparing equipment for transport is a plus.</li><li>Comfort working on large industrial or manufacturing projects.</li><li>Willingness to be trained and to develop skills in rigging, anchoring, and technical construction tasks.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>You will join a leading rigging and crating organization known for its large-scale industrial projects and long-term opportunities. Morning shifts are available Monday through Friday, including 16-hour shifts for rigging and anchoring laborers (6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), 12-hour shifts for anchoring laborers (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), and 10-hour shifts for technical laborers (6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). The work is highly physical and takes place both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, confined areas, and high-noise environments. You will regularly use hand and power tools, including jackhammers, laser levels, and skid steers, and may work around heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
