Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Electrician Assistant / Electrical Apprentice to support licensed electricians with residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work. This role is ideal for individuals who are early in their electrical career and want hands-on experience while working toward journeyman or electrician certification.
You will assist with installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems while learning industry best practices, safety standards, and code compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Site Support
Assist licensed electricians with electrical installations and repairs
Prepare job sites, tools, and materials for daily work
Run conduit (EMT, PVC, rigid), pull wire, and assist with terminations
Install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, panels, and breakers
Support low-voltage work when required (data, cameras, access control)
Safety & Compliance
Follow all OSHA, NEC, and local electrical codes
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite
Use PPE and proper safety procedures at all times
Work only under supervision for tasks requiring a licensed electrician
Learning & Development
Learn electrical theory, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting
Observe and assist with service calls and project installations
Track hours toward apprenticeship or licensing requirements
Participate in training, safety meetings, and skills development
General Duties
Load/unload tools, equipment, and materials
Assist with testing, labeling, and documentation
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
Represent the company professionally on customer sites
QualificationsRequired
High school diploma or GED
Strong desire to learn the electrical trade
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders
Reliable transportation to job sites
Willingness to work outdoors and in various environments
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Preferred (Not Required)
Enrollment in or interest in an electrical apprenticeship program
Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
Previous construction or trade experience
Familiarity with NEC or electrical safety practices
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain)
