Join us in shaping the success and making an impact that truly matters. SummaryAs a Forward Deployed Engineer, you sit at the intersection of engineering and go-to-market. You're the technical owner of customer outcomes — hands-on in the code, embedded in the customer relationship, and responsible for turning our Saas client’s edge intelligence platform into measurable performance wins for the world's top ecommerce brands. This is not a support role. You'll be debugging JavaScript in production, writing transform scripts, configuring caching rules, and troubleshooting complex CDN behavior across Shopify, SFCC (Salesforce Commerce Cloud), and custom storefronts. You'll own the full technical lifecycle from onboarding through optimization, working directly with merchant engineering teams and translating their stack into our client’s platform. What you’ll be doing:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Write, review, and debug transform scripts that modify storefront responses at the edge, ensuring correctness across device types, locales, and customer groups.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Actively monitor customer trials and react to issues or anomalies fast, whether that’s a code change or an internal escalation — speed of solution is key.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Use browser DevTools, Honeycomb, and our client’s internal APIs to diagnose caching anomalies, TTFB regressions, and personalization conflicts in production environments.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Own the technical relationship with a portfolio of merchant accounts — acting as the primary engineering point of contact for escalations.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Build internal tooling, documentation, and playbooks that scale the team's ability to onboard and support customers faster.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Surface product feedback from the field — you'll have more first-hand exposure to real-world edge cases than anyone else in the company, and your input will directly shape the roadmap.</li></ul> Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">2–5 years of experience in a technical customer-facing, or engineering role (solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, full-stack engineer, or similar).</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Proficiency in JavaScript — you're comfortable reading, writing, and debugging JS in a browser context without hand-holding.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Solid understanding of how the web works: HTTP, caching headers, CDNs, DNS, and browser rendering.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Experience with Shopify storefronts (Liquid, Hydrogen, or headless) is a strong plus; familiarity with SFCC or other enterprise platforms is a bonus.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Comfort working in production environments under pressure — you know how to isolate a problem, form a hypothesis, and verify it without breaking things.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Strong written and verbal communication — you can explain a cache invalidation strategy to a merchant's VP of Engineering and their Head of eCommerce in the same conversation.</li></ul>Nice-to-have<ul><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Experience with Cloudflare Workers, CDN configuration, or edge compute platforms.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation tooling.</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Background in e-commerce performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, LCP, TTFB).</li><li style="list-style-type:disc;">Experience working across GitHub repos in a collaborative engineering environment.</li></ul> Benefits and Perks:At eFlex, we're not just a workplace – we're a community of playmakers, committed to fostering growth, learning, and personal connections.
