Location: Kathmandu, Nepal (Remote) Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM CST + 2 Flexible Hours Employment Type: Full-Time<h2>About Aoka:</h2>We are seeking a talented Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join our VertexPlans development team and help build scalable, high-performance web applications.This role is ideal for a self-driven developer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to both existing and new products.<h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and products from concept to production.</li><li>Maintain and enhance existing Ruby on Rails applications and backend services.</li><li>Improve system architecture, application performance, scalability, and code quality.</li><li>Collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers to deliver user-focused solutions.</li><li>Develop and maintain secure third-party integrations, including payment gateway integrations.</li><li>Write and maintain automated tests for frontend and backend systems.</li><li>Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software defects and production issues.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.</li><li>Support CI/CD processes and deployment workflows.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing full-stack web applications using Ruby on Rails.</li><li>Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and modern web development practices.</li><li>Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.</li><li>Strong experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design.</li><li>Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.</li><li>Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Experience with payment processing integrations such as Stripe or similar platforms.</li><li>Experience working in Agile development environments.</li><li>Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.</li><li>Experience optimizing application performance and scalability.</li></ul><h2>Compensation & Benefits:</h2><ul><li>Competitive Salary: $1,200 – $3,000 USD per month (based on experience and qualifications)</li><li>Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)</li><li>Fully Remote Work Environment</li><li>Opportunity to work on impactful products with a growing international team</li><li>Career growth and advancement opportunities</li><li>Collaborative and supportive work culture </li></ul>About Aoka Aoka is a third-party municipal services provider serving federal, state, and local governments with code compliance, inspections, and consulting.
