<h1>Location: Thimpu, Bhutan (Remote) Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM CST + 2 flexible hours, Monday to Friday </h1><h2>About the Role:</h2>Aoka is seeking a skilled Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join the VertexPlans development team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in building high-quality, scalable web applications. You will work on a mix of expanding our existing software, squashing bugs, optimizing the current architecture, and independently spearheading the development of brand-new products and features from inception to deployment.If you are a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and loves taking ownership of your work, we want to hear from you. <h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>Independently design, build, and deploy new features and products from start to finish.</li><li>Maintain and optimize existing Ruby on Rails web applications and backend services/APIs.</li><li>Continuously work on bettering the existing system architecture, ensuring code quality, and optimizing website performance.</li><li>Partner closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to deliver seamless, user-centric features.</li><li>Implement secure and reliable third-party integrations, specifically focusing on payment gateways.</li><li>Write and maintain comprehensive automated tests (both frontend and backend) to ensure long-term stability.</li><li>Efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system bugs. </li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>3+ years of professional full-stack Ruby on Rails web development experience.</li><li>Strong, deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails.</li><li>Deep understanding of CSS and responsive design principles.</li><li>High proficiency with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.</li><li>Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines. </li></ul><h2>Compensation and Benefits:</h2><ul><li>Monthly Salary: $1,200 – $3,000 / month (Depending on experience and qualifications)</li><li>Vacation: Unlimited PTO </li></ul>About Aoka Aoka is a third-party municipal services provider serving federal, state, and local governments with code compliance, inspections, and consulting.
