Job Overview
We are a small home health agency seeking a reliable, self‑motivated receptionist who can work independently at least 80% of the time. You will manage phones, scheduling, EMR data entry, referral intake, and order tracking during our busiest hours. This role is perfect for someone who takes initiative, follows through on tasks without being micromanaged, and enjoys a steady, detail‑oriented workflow.

Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Phone Support

  • Answer and route incoming calls with professionalism.
  • Provide warm, helpful communication to patients, families, clinicians, and provider offices.

Scheduling & Visit Management

  • Schedule patient visits for nursing and therapy staff.
  • Manage cancellations, schedule changes, and EMR updates.
  • Track visit counts to ensure compliance with authorized frequencies.

Patient Intake & EMR Entry

  • Enter new patients into the EMR, including demographics, insurance, referral details, and discipline requests.
  • Ensure all patient records are complete and accurately maintained.

Referral Portal Monitoring

  • Check referral portals daily for new incoming referrals.
  • Download and organize referral documents; forward to clinical leadership.
  • Log referral source, date/time received, and referral status.

Physician Orders

  • Send, track, and follow up on orders until returned signed.
  • Maintain order‑tracking logs.
  • Pick up signed orders in‑person from nearby physician offices as needed.

Eligibility & Documentation Support

  • Verify insurance eligibility (Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial).
  • Assist intake with obtaining missing documents.

Qualifications Required

  • 1+ year of receptionist or medical office experience.
  • Strong communication and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently at least 80% of the time.
  • Demonstrated reliability and consistency.
  • Familiarity with EMRs (home health EMR preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and basic medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Home health experience (HCHB, WellSky/Kinnser, AlayaCare, etc.).
  • Experience with eligibility portals.
