Responsibilities
Review and moderate user-generated content on a major social media platform in accordance with established community guidelines and platform policies
Identify, assess, and action content that violates platform standards, including hate speech, misinformation, graphic material, and spam, using German-language proficiency to accurately evaluate context and nuance
Escalate complex or sensitive cases to specialist teams while maintaining strict confidentiality and data privacy protocols
Monitor trends in harmful or policy-violating content across the social media platform and provide relevant feedback to the trust and safety team
Maintain accurate records of moderation decisions, ensuring consistency and compliance with internal quality benchmarks
Contribute to ongoing improvements in content moderation workflows by sharing insights gained from reviewing German-language social media content
Participate in regular training sessions to stay up to date with evolving platform policies, community standards, and industry best practices within the social media sector
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a safe, inclusive, and positive user experience across the platform
Requirements
Native or fluent German language skills (both spoken and written) are essential for this role
Valid EU passport (mandatory requirement)
Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital communication norms, and online community dynamics
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to make accurate, consistent moderation decisions under pressure
High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity, particularly within German-speaking online communities
Ability to manage exposure to potentially distressing or graphic content in a professional and resilient manner
Good level of English for internal communication and team collaboration
Nice-to-haves
Previous experience in content moderation, trust and safety, or a related social media role is considered a strong advantage
