Junior Property Accountant BAB Commercial | Santa Clara, CA (On-Site)
BAB Commercial is seeking a full-time, on-site Junior Property Accountant to join our growing team in Santa Clara. This role is ideal for a commercial real estate accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, ownership, and delivering reliable financial reporting.
The right candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive, with a strong foundation in commercial property accounting. This position plays a key role in the financial management of a portfolio of properties and partners closely with Property Managers and leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice coding and review, tenant billings, adjustments, and charge-backs, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation
Own and execute monthly close processes for assigned properties, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting schedules
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines
Prepare annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, including analysis, tenant communication support, and issue resolution
Contribute to and maintain annual budgets and forecasts, including system uploads and ongoing tracking in Yardi, Kardin, MRI, and/or Excel
Monitor and analyze accounts receivable and delinquency reports, proactively partnering with Property Managers to resolve outstanding balances
Review financial results, identify variances, and provide insightful analysis to support operational decision-making
Serve as a reliable accounting partner to Property Managers and leadership, ensuring financial data integrity and consistency across the portfolio
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
3–5+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of property-level financials
Strong working knowledge of CRE accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, Kardin, or similar platforms
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and priorities with minimal supervision
Strong understanding of accrual accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes
