Junior Property Accountant
BAB Commercial | Santa Clara, CA (On-Site)

BAB Commercial is seeking a full-time, on-site Junior Property Accountant to join our growing team in Santa Clara. This role is ideal for a commercial real estate accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, ownership, and delivering reliable financial reporting.

The right candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive, with a strong foundation in commercial property accounting. This position plays a key role in the financial management of a portfolio of properties and partners closely with Property Managers and leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice coding and review, tenant billings, adjustments, and charge-backs, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation
  • Own and execute monthly close processes for assigned properties, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting schedules
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines
  • Prepare annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, including analysis, tenant communication support, and issue resolution
  • Contribute to and maintain annual budgets and forecasts, including system uploads and ongoing tracking in Yardi, Kardin, MRI, and/or Excel
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable and delinquency reports, proactively partnering with Property Managers to resolve outstanding balances
  • Review financial results, identify variances, and provide insightful analysis to support operational decision-making
  • Serve as a reliable accounting partner to Property Managers and leadership, ensuring financial data integrity and consistency across the portfolio

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 3–5+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of property-level financials
  • Strong working knowledge of CRE accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, Kardin, or similar platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and priorities with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes

Position Details

  • Type: Full-time, on-site, hourly
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
