Operations & Production Coordinator — San Util DesignAbout San Util Design

San Util Design is a bikepacking, mountain biking, and backcountry skiing gear company focused on durable, repairable, purpose-built soft goods for life outside. We design and manufacture gear with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, functional design, and community.

We’re relocating operations to Bellingham and are looking for an organized, hands-on Operations & Production Coordinator to help build the next phase of the company.

This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the founder in a growing outdoor industry brand and play a major role in shaping production systems, workflow, and day-to-day operations.

Position Overview The Operations & Production Coordinator will oversee and support daily production flow, inventory management, fulfillment, and operational organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, solving problems, and working in both a shop and office environment.

The right person is detail-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and excited about small business growth in the outdoor industry.

ResponsibilitiesProduction & Manufacturing

  • Coordinate daily production workflow and priorities
  • Assist with soft goods manufacturing and assembly
  • Maintain production schedules and timelines
  • Improve shop organization and workflow efficiency
  • Help develop and document production processes and SOPs
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products
  • Coordinate with contractors or additional production help as needed
Operations & Inventory
  • Manage material and hardware inventory levels
  • Track incoming materials and restock needs
  • Organize production materials and finished goods
  • Assist with purchasing and supplier coordination
  • Maintain clean and functional workspaces
Fulfillment & Logistics
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders
  • Manage shipping supplies and fulfillment systems
  • Coordinate wholesale and event inventory prep
  • Assist with trade shows and events when needed
Administrative Support
  • Help maintain production records and operational systems
  • Support implementation of inventory and project management software
  • Assist with scheduling and operational planning
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
QualificationsPreferred Experience
  • Experience in production, manufacturing, operations, or fulfillment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced small business environment
  • Experience with sewing, soft goods, outdoor gear, or manufacturing is a major plus
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, spreadsheets, or project management tools
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
Bonus Points
  • Passion for mountain biking, bikepacking, skiing, or outdoor culture
  • Experience in small-batch manufacturing
  • Experience with industrial sewing equipment
