Receptionist

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Goodwill Industries of South Texas is seeking apart-time Receptionist to workMonday - Friday,from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. This position is intended to allow an individual to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities to help prepare for a professional job. The Receptionist supports Goodwill Industries of South Texas with the first point of contact for individuals visiting or calling the Goodwill Corporate Offices. The Receptionist is expected to be professional while upholding the core Goodwill values of Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.

*This position is temporary and is intended to provide work experience to an individual for a specified amount of time.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Greet visitors directing them to the appropriate person or department. Inform other employees of visitors' arrivals or cancellations
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, forwarding or taking messages as appropriate. Check voicemail and return calls
  • Manage conference room calendar
  • Create employee badges and ensure their delivery to the appropriate location
  • Maintain safe and clean reception area
  • Log incoming/outgoing mail and affix appropriate postage. Process and sort interoffice mail and place it into appropriate mailboxes
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources team to include data entry, scanning, and filing documents as necessary
  • Embrace the agency's core values in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals. Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Courteous, friendly, and professional telephone manners
  • Strong ability to speak clearly and deliver information effectively
  • Capable of dealing with diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and discretion
  • Team player with a positive attitude
