We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Writer with strong litigation experience to support our attorneys in drafting high-quality, strategic legal documents.
Candidates must have Michigan/No Fault Experience.
Position Overview The Part-Time Legal Writer will play a critical role in the litigation process by drafting, editing, and refining key legal documents. This is not an entry-level writing role—you must understand personal injury litigation, strategy, and how to position a case effectively on paper.
If you can take complex case facts and turn them into clear, persuasive, litigation-ready documents, this role will fit you well.
Key Responsibilities
Draft case evaluations with clear liability and damages analysis
Prepare facilitation summaries and settlement positioning documents
Write detailed case summaries for internal and external use
Draft and respond to discovery requests, including:
Interrogatories
Requests for Production
Requests for Admission
Assist attorneys in developing case strategy through written analysis
Review and request (as needed) medical records and supporting documentation to incorporate into written work product
Ensure all documents are accurate, organized, and litigation-ready
Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience in Personal Injury litigation (plaintiff-side strongly preferred)
Proven experience drafting:
Discovery responses
Case summaries
Litigation evaluations or demand-style narratives
Strong understanding of:
Liability analysis
Damages (medical, wage loss, pain & suffering)
Litigation workflow (pre-lit through trial prep)
Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines without supervision

Compensation
