The Rental Agent is responsible for welcoming customers, understanding their rental needs, presenting available options, and guiding them through the reservation and contract process. Day-to-day tasks include creating and managing rental agreements, verifying documentation, processing payments, and explaining terms, conditions, and insurance options in a clear and compliant manner. The role also involves coordinating vehicle availability, inspecting vehicles before and after rentals, recording mileage and condition, and ensuring that vehicles are clean and ready for the next customer. The Rental Agent responds to inquiries in person, by phone, and online, resolves issues, handles extensions, and supports overall branch operations, including basic administrative work and collaboration with colleagues to meet performance and customer satisfaction goals.<br><strong>Qualifications<br></strong> <ul><li>Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a focus on friendly, solution-oriented support.</li><li>Experience or interest in Rental Management and Car Rental, including handling reservations, contracts, and vehicle check-in/check-out processes.</li><li>Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, to explain rental terms, answer questions, and interact with a diverse customer base.</li><li>General comfort with basic computer systems, reservation software, and payment processing tools.</li><li>Ability to work on-site in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, including standing for periods, moving between vehicles, and working in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, reliability, and organizational skills to manage multiple rentals and tasks at once.</li><li>Previous experience in retail, hospitality, transportation, or a similar customer-focused role is beneficial.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant certifications in business, hospitality, or transportation are a plus.</li><li>Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, and ability to operate vehicles as needed for inspections and repositioning.</li></ul>
