<p>An exciting and genuinely unique opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join a highly regarded international law firm in either their New York or Washington DC office.</p><p><br></p><p>This role stands out in the US market, offering a rare blend of <strong>conflicts-focused work (circa 70%) alongside broader strategic risk and compliance exposure (30%)</strong>. </p><p><br></p><p>It is particularly well suited to a conflicts lawyer who is looking to expand their skillset beyond pure conflicts work and gain experience across wider regulatory and risk matters within a global firm.</p><p><br></p><p>While the core of the role centres on conflicts and business intake, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and diversify their experience across a broad range of risk and compliance activities, making this an excellent step for someone seeking long-term development into a more rounded risk role.</p><p><br></p><p>In this role you will play a key part in safeguarding the firm by:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Advising partners and internal stakeholders on conflicts of interest, professional responsibility, and new business intake matters</li><li>Supporting the review of outside counsel guidelines and engagement terms</li><li>Collaborating closely with partners, General Counsel, and other business services teams on complex conflicts matters</li><li>Gaining exposure to wider risk and compliance work, including regulatory and professional responsibility matters</li><li>Supporting policy development, risk management initiatives, and internal compliance projects</li><li>Providing guidance on firm policies, regulatory obligations, and best practices</li><li>Assisting with broader governance and risk-related matters as the role develops</li></ul><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer, either in-house or in private practice, who is interested in moving into a risk and compliance role within an international law firm. </p><p><strong>Prior direct conflicts experience is not essential</strong>, and the firm is open to candidates with transferable skills who are keen to build expertise in this area.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer - particularly someone currently specialising in conflicts - to step into a <strong>more varied and forward-looking role</strong>, gaining exposure to both core conflicts work and broader strategic risk matters within a leading global firm.</p><p><br></p><p>Apply today or get in touch at daniel@uncovertalent.co.uk to find out more</p>
