Job Overview
Pillar Interiors is a high-end residential interior design studio creating refined, livable homes for modern families across Maryland and Washington, D.C.

We are seeking a Social Media Content Creator & Brand Storyteller to elevate our digital presence through thoughtful, visually compelling, and strategically driven content.

This is not a typical “social media manager” role.
We are looking for someone with a strong eye for design, a love for storytelling, and the ability to translate beautiful spaces into meaningful, engaging content.

About the Role

You will be responsible for capturing, creating, and curating content that reflects the Pillar Interiors brand—timeless, elevated, and approachable.

This role combines:

  • Content creation (photo + video)
  • Creative direction
  • Light strategy + execution

You will work closely with our team to document projects in real time—from install days to behind-the-scenes moments—and transform them into polished, on-brand content.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Capture

  • Capture on-site content during installs, styling days, and key project milestones
  • Shoot and edit short-form video (Reels) that feel elevated and intentional
  • Photograph spaces, materials, and details with a strong design eye

Content Planning & Execution

  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar
  • Plan content around project timelines and brand initiatives
  • Post consistently on Instagram (primary platform)

Brand Storytelling

  • Write thoughtful, polished captions that reflect our voice
  • Translate design concepts into relatable, engaging narratives
  • Highlight the transformation process, not just the final result

Creative Direction

  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards (tone, aesthetic, quality)
  • Identify opportunities for growth, visibility, and engagement
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table—this is a collaborative, creative role

What We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have a strong eye for interiors, composition, and detail
  • Naturally notice lighting, texture, and spatial flow
  • Understand the difference between pretty content and elevated branding

Experience

  • Experience creating content for interior design, architecture, real estate, or luxury brands preferred
  • Proficient in Instagram, Reels, and short-form video editing
  • Comfortable shooting on iPhone or camera (both welcome)

Skillset

  • Strong editing skills (video + photo)
  • Confident, clear, and polished writing ability
  • Organized and proactive—able to plan ahead and follow through

  • Values quality over quantity
