HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Senior Market Research Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping advance the goals of USGBC and GBCI. In this role, you will establish and lead the processes, tools, and analytical foundation needed to deliver enterprise-level market intelligence across the built environment. Your work will provide future-facing insights into the state of industry, customer needs, market size, competitive landscape, regulatory, and sustainability trends that translate those findings into actionable recommendations that drive product development, portfolio strategy, marketing campaigns, and broader strategic business decisions across U.S. and global markets.
You’ll report to the VP, Product Management & Insights, and be part of a collaborative team environment where your contributions will help shape impactful outcomes. In this role, you will provide strategic enablement, collaborating closely with Product Management, Marketing, Innovation and Research, and Executive Leadership to ensure research priorities are aligned with high-value questions and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Insights Strategy: Ensure constant prioritization of research initiatives based on business objectives; balance responsiveness to emerging questions with a focus on high-impact, strategic analyses. Evaluate and recommend external research tools and data partnerships (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, SEMrush, Factiva, LexisNexis) to expand data capabilities.
Enterprise Market Intelligence: Monitor and forecast macro trends affecting the built environment (economic, regulatory, sustainability). Analyze competitor pricing, positioning, go-to-market strategies, and technological innovations to inform strategic positioning and identify growth opportunities.
Market Research & Data Collection: Design and conduct primary research—including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and workshops—to generate proprietary insights. Leverage secondary research sources (industry reports, databases, regulatory filings) to build a holistic view of market size, customer segments, buyer personas, and industry trends.
Advanced Analytics & Forecasting: Use statistical and data-modelling tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, Python, SQL) to analyze large quantitative and qualitative data sets. Apply forecasting methods to anticipate demand, revenue potential, and customer behavior across product lines.
Data Visualization & Communication: Develop dashboards, charts, and executive-level reports that translate complex findings into clear narratives. Present insights to cross-functional stakeholders, guiding product roadmaps, marketing strategies, and investment decisions.
Process & Infrastructure: Establish core market research and insights processes, frameworks, and standards across the organization for all types of research including product, marketing, and customer/user research to be used by product management, marketing, and customer support teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Marketers, Finance, and Market Transformation teams to integrate market intelligence into go-to-market plans, positioning, and product development. Provide thought leadership to external communications when appropriate (white papers, blog posts) without taking on executional marketing duties.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current on data-privacy regulations and research best practices. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI) and sustainability standards impacting the industry.
