Tariff expert (secondment to client, part-time, contract)

<p><strong>Location:</strong> Abu Dhabi (on-site or remote)<br><strong>Engagement Type:</strong> Part-time, hourly/daily involvement with a few hours commitment per day, 3-4 week project assignment with a potential extension</p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an expert in tariff development and redesign with a strong background in the utilities sector for a client in Abu Dhabi. Strong experience in tariff structuring and pricing is important. Candidates with backgrounds in utilities, regulators, system operators, or energy-focused advisory/consulting firms, with immediate availability, will be preferred. <br>The role objective is to provide expert support on the design and assessment of regulated tariffs in the utilities sector, including quantitative impact analysis.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Support the design and refinement of regulated tariffs</p></li><li><p>Develop and operate financial and economic models to assess cost recovery, revenue allocation, and stakeholder impact</p></li><li><p>Perform scenario, sensitivity, and impact analysis to support tariff and pricing decisions</p></li><li><p>Provide expert input on regulatory economics, tariff principles, and pricing frameworks, drawing on international best practices</p></li><li><p>Support the digitization and automation of charge calculation, settlement, and invoicing processes, including opportunities for analytics and AI-enabled insights</p></li><li><p>Translate complex technical analysis into clear, decision-ready outputs for senior stakeholders and project leadership</p></li></ul><p><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><p>Deep experience in tariff structuring, pricing, or regulatory cost recovery frameworks</p></li><li><p>Strong hands-on capability in financial and tariff modeling</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with the UAE or regional utilities sector in the regulatory and market context</p></li><li><p>Background in utilities, regulators, system operators, or energy-focused advisory/consulting firms</p></li><li><p>Subject-matter expert profile, typically 8–15+ years of relevant experience</p></li></ul><p><strong><br>Disclaimer:</strong></p><p>This job posting is not open to recruitment agencies.
