About the Position Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Profession: Nursing Specialty: CNA Duration: Full Time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Standard hours Experience: Preferred experience working in a healthcare setting.

License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR EMT III OR Current Paramedic Certification OR Nursing Degree from an accredited institution can replace the requirements Must-Have: Knowledge of clinic procedures for receiving and following through on a patient visit and related treatments.

Skills in communication and customer service. Ability to operate medical equipment such as blood pressure cuffs and pulse oximeters.

Description: This role involves accurately collecting and documenting information in patient charts. Keeps patient records organized with all forms properly identified. Copies and compiles other medical data as needed. Assures patient medication and immunization records are current. Recognizes signs or symptoms requiring prompt intervention and acts appropriately. Transports patients within the facility as needed. Demonstrates the ability to manage patient care duties while maintaining clinic flow. Reports and records any observed changes in patients' conditions or behaviors. Observes patients to ensure those requiring assistance have someone in attendance. Sets up equipment and supplies for routine exams and minor procedures. Prepares patients for and assists with procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries. Provides specimen collection and Point of Care Testing (POCT). Follows protocol for collecting, labeling, and transporting specimens. Performs and assists with radiology exams when competencies are met. Assists providers as directed and trained within the licensed scope of practice. Assists clinic nurses as needed. Provides immunizations and injections as ordered by providers. May perform basic life support as certified. Assists in identifying patients overdue for immunizations and health maintenance. Provides cross-coverage for peers to ensure the efficient flow of patients. Attends and participates in staff meetings. Responsible for applying information presented in staff meetings. Participates in unit goal setting. Complies with scheduling guidelines. Initiates discussions with management regarding departmental issues. Addresses unresolved problems with appropriate management. Completes other duties as assigned.
