BB is the world’s largest and most advanced implementation of blockchain for humanitarian aid. Building Blocks serves both as a coordination mechanism among organizations providing aid (e.g. UN and NGOs) as well as a distribution mechanism for various types of aid (e.g. food and cash). WFP offers BB for free to reputable humanitarian organizations which become equal owner/operators of the network upon joining. The technical architecture of BB can also accommodate other use cases such as supply chain management and digital identities.</p><p></p><p>Building Blocks is currently operational in Jordan, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Syria and Palestine and looking to expand to support more Country Office operations with inter-agency assistance coordination and redemption harmonization use cases. WFP is looking for a highly driven and competent individual to lead all central operational support to existing and potential country office operations. The ideal candidate is highly self-driven with a particular talent for understanding complex operational contexts, intra-organizational dynamics and the interplay between various functions.</p><p></p><p><b><span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></b></p><p>Under the supervision of Head of Software Solutions Development and Deployment, the Building Blocks Technical Coordinator’s responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Focal point and main point of contact for all BB operations queries and activities. Maintaining productive working relationships between Building Blocks Global and Country Office teams, vendors, and WFP’s country level and global HQ level related functional units as required.</li></ul><ul><li>Oversee Building Blocks operations across Country Offices working closely with CO internal units and external partners.</li><li>Ensure the overall operations of Building Blocks run smoothly, both from systems and user experience points of view.</li><li>Support the maintenance budgeting, planning and deployment for Building Blocks globally.</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate the implementation of maintenance and configuration activities to ensure smooth operations of Building Blocks in the COs.</li><li>Effectively communicate maintenance and configuration plans to all internal and external stakeholders, build consensus, and engage in conflict resolution as required. Gather feedback and propose new BB features and functionalities</li><li>Provide operational inputs to develop project scopes and objectives, aligning solutions with business needs, ensuring technical feasibility, establishing timelines and milestones, and determining KPIs in each context.</li><li>Support scoping activities to evaluate BB’s potential application for WFP and partner operations across the globe.</li><li>Support the deployment, implementation and scale-up of Building Blocks including new functionalities and/or new operational contexts or regions as needed.</li><li>Ensure key milestones are delivered on time, well tested and deployed, aligned with WFP business needs and the overall project, duly approved, and according to budget.</li><li>Support CO designated BB staff, provide coaching and training to ensure appropriate capacity and skills. Provide troubleshooting support for BB and related applications and devices, including advice on technical troubleshooting, maintenance, quality checks, software updates, deployment tracking, etc.</li><li>Support SCOPE-BB integration where required.</li><li>Identify and recommend long-term solutions to recurring field-level technical issues.</li><li>Perform any other relevant tasks.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</b></p><p><b>Education:</b></p><p>University degree in business, project management, IT, or a related field.</p><p>business, communications, computer science.</p><p></p><p><b>Experience:</b></p><ul><li>At least three years of relevant professional experience.</li><li>Operational IT experience is an asset.</li><li>Product / Project management experience is an asset.</li><li>Intermediate finance/budget skills is an asset.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Knowledge & Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Continually strives to develop new skills outside of comfort zone.</li><li>Highly autonomous and able to work with minimum supervision.</li><li>Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.</li><li>High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to decide from incomplete information and come up with innovative solutions to problems without precedent.</li><li>Strong conflict resolution and consensus-building skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Languages:</b></p><p>Fluency (level C) in English language.
